September 20, 2023: Meeting with Dr. Kurita

On August 31, we held a research meeting with Dr. Kayoko Kurita (University of Tokyo), a specialist in higher education. At the meeting, the members listened to the research and dissemination activities of the Network Group, which now includes new members, and also to their concerns about how to secure time for writing papers and other projects amidst the time consuming activities of the Group.
In terms of research activities, we received a lot of feedback on our questionnaire translation project. Thanks to their feedback, we were able to reaffirm the value of the process of “carefully creating a Japanese version of the scale by taking multiple steps and clearly showing the process of discussion,” and we have a strong desire to actively disclose information about the process of scale translation.

The principal investigators also listened carefully to our concerns on the topic of how to balance the various activities. He then said, “I can tell that the members of this research group find great value in communicating to others,” which I thought would be a great guideline for the future. I felt that if we first set aside time for projects that have a strong “communicating to others,” such as papers and handmade events, we would naturally find a good balance among the various activities.

At the end of the meeting, everyone felt refreshed, and we all struggled to take a picture of all the participants, both online and on-site. We were able to take a group photo of everyone with a half smile on their faces. I would like to continue to manage the Network Group in a friendly atmosphere with Mr. Kurita!
