To the next stage

To the next stage! Bridging the Gap Between Stakeholders and Researchers

It has been pointed out that the perspectives and thoughts of individuals experiencing difficulties, not limited to mental health issues, are not sufficiently reflected in the research undertaken by specialists. On the other hand, researchers, especially those from fundamentally different fields like engineering, often want to understand the experiences and thoughts of the individuals concerned but may not know how to connect with them. Given this context, initiatives for Patient Public Involvement (PPI) in research are recommended.

Yesterday, we engaged in a passionate discussion with Dr. So Yamaguchi, the Head of the Mental Health Service Evaluation Research Department at the Community Mental Health & Legal Systems Research Division, specializing in social welfare studies. We explored initiatives involving actual stakeholders from the early stages of research and discussed the potential for digital interventions in mental health from local and global perspectives!
